I don't know how many have forgotten about TikTok pasta, but I’m still obsessed with this creamy, dreamy baked feta pasta dish. I'm pretty sure this viral recipe took over the internet because it’s sheer dinner decadence with almost no effort. Cherry tomatoes, feta cheese, olive oil, and pasta transform into a rich, tangy, comforting dish that’s just as perfect today as it was during its viral moment.

I've made feta cheese pasta enough times to get the right balance—creamy but not oily, salty but not overpowering. The secret? Just enough olive oil, a touch of fresh herbs (if available), and that silky emulsion you get when you toss everything together with a splash of pasta water.
Cherry tomatoes are my favorite for this recipe because they’re sweet, bright, and easy to find year-round. Once they bake, their sweetness really comes out! Try my Spinach Lasagna Recipe for another meatless favorite!
Why You’ll Love This Recipe
- It’s the most leisurely pasta dinner you’ll ever make—bake, boil, stir, done.
- Creamy, tangy, and full of Mediterranean flavor.
- Uses simple, fresh ingredients you probably already have.
- Perfect for busy weeknights, lazy weekends, or last-minute dinner parties.
- Works with any pasta shape—rotini, penne, or even spaghetti.
- Still trendy enough for TikTok but refined enough to be timeless.
Ingredients You’ll Need
- Feta Cheese – A block of feta melts into a luscious, tangy sauce. Crumbled feta can work, but block feta gives the creamiest results.
- Cherry Tomatoes – Sweet and juicy, they burst and caramelize in the oven, creating that vibrant tomato base.
- Extra Virgin Olive Oil – Just enough to coat the tomatoes and feta without leaving a greasy texture.
- Black Pepper & Garlic – Bring warmth and depth to balance the saltiness of the cheese.
- Fresh Oregano & Parsley – Stirred in after baking for bright, fresh flavor that makes the dish shine.
- Dried Pasta – Any shape you love. Short pasta holds the sauce best, but long pasta is just as delicious.
- Pasta Water – The secret weapon for a silky, restaurant-style sauce.
- Sea Salt – Add to the pasta water only; the feta adds enough salt on its own.

How to Make Baked Feta Pasta
Preheat the oven to 400°F. Place the feta in the center of a casserole dish and add cherry tomatoes all around. Drizzle with extra virgin olive oil, sprinkle with black pepper and garlic, and stir gently to coat the tomatoes. Bake uncovered for 25 minutes, until the tomatoes burst and the feta softens. I like to toss in most of the oregano after it has baked.

I also prefer to cook the pasta while the tomato feta mixture bakes. Reserve ½ cup of pasta water. Drizzle olive oil over the pasta to prevent sticking. Fold the cooked pasta into the warm tomato feta mixture and toss until combined, adding splashes of pasta water for a silky sauce.

Sprinkle with fresh parsley, serve warm, and enjoy.

Recipe Tips
- Tomatoes: Use cherry or grape tomatoes for the best balance of sweetness and acidity.
- Cheese: Choose a quality feta block—cow’s milk is milder, sheep’s milk is more tangy and creamy.
- Oil balance: Don’t overdo the olive oil. Too much will make the sauce oily and heavy.
- Texture fix: If your sauce looks thick, pasta water is your best friend—add it slowly until smooth.
- Make it ahead: Tomato feta pasta reheats beautifully; just add a splash of water before warming.
- Seasonal note: Cherry tomatoes are sweet and bright in summer but easy to find all year—this pasta truly works in every season.
Serving ideas
Serve this warm, baked feta cheese pasta as a main dish with French Bread or a crisp salad, or pair it as a side with baked chicken, salmon, or shrimp. It’s a fast, no-fuss entree or side that feels fancy enough for guests and cozy enough for a quiet night in.

Hiya, the qt of cherry tomatoes is same as 2 pints. You can always cut the recipe in half 🙂 Hope that helps...thanks!
Jennine says
Have you ever topped it with another cheese and broiled it to get a nice bubbled, browned cheesy top? And if so, what kind of cheese do you think would work best and still mend with the flavors of the feta and tomatoes?
The Kitchen Girl says
Hi Jennine, I haven't with this dish, but I've done it with other baked pasta using mozzarella. It gets perfectly browned and bubbly 🙂
