Peppermint white chocolate pretzels are pretzel rods dipped in melted white chocolate coated with crushed peppermint candy. Make these easy, sweet and salty Christmas pretzel rods for holiday snacks and edible gifts.
Why you'll love peppermint bark pretzels
Peppermint white chocolate pretzels are love-at-first-bite! Who doesn't love the combination of sweet, savory, crunchy, and crispy in a convenient handheld treat? They're as easy as my Christmas rice krispie treats and use only three ingredients. Since pretzels provide the base for this holiday treat, they're sturdy, salty, sweet, and loved by kids and adults! Add them to your Christmas charcuterie and watch them disappear!
Ingredients you'll need
- Pretzel rods - You can use pretzel crisps or another pretzel shape for this recipe.
- White chocolate chips - Candy melts will work too!
- Peppermint candy cane - Any size can be used.
How to make white chocolate pretzels
Crush the candy canes on a flat surface and set aside. Melt white chocolate chips in a heat-safe bowl in the microwave.
Dip each pretzel rod into the melted white chocolate one at a time. Sprinkle crushed peppermint over the chocolate before the white chocolate sets up.
Rest the coated pretzel rods on a baking sheet or parchment paper. Repeat until all pretzel rods are coated. Let the decorated pretzel rods set up at room temperature for 20 minutes. You can refrigerate them to solidify the chocolate more quickly.
Recipe tips and variations
- Use fresh pretzels for this recipe. Stale pretzels are not optimal.
- Select chocolate chips from reputable brands for the best quality and flavor. White candy melts can be used in equal amounts.
- Melt the chocolate gently to avoid scorching whether you use a microwave or stove to heat it.
- To remedy overheated (clumpy) chocolate, add a teaspoon of oil and microwave it in 20-second intervals, stirring as necessary until it becomes smooth again.
- Melted white chocolate solidifies quickly, so you may need to reheat it a few times while making this recipe.
- Make peppermint pretzels with dark chocolate for a different twist on flavor and appearance.
