Become a meal magician any night of the week by turning your favorite smoked sausage into a lightened-up, skillet meal. Sun-dried tomatoes tastefully accent this dish and bring out the savory bites of sausage and veggies. This is the Magic Wand ‘Any’ Sausage Skillet Meal. It’s veg-friendly, and on the table in under 30 minutes.
A couple of weeks ago, we returned from a short camping trip and had one, lonely sausage link left in our ice chest. How’d that happen?…I don’t know, because sausages are crazy popular among hungry campers.
But, we had one left. And I needed to make dinner…fast! One link…and one bun…does not make a meal-for-two. So, I opened the fridge, waved my magic wand, and built an entire dish around this yummy wallflower.
Then I did a photo shoot…b/c, well, it was pretty. Our dinner grew cold, blah blah, food blogger problems, but you’ll be happy to know this meal heats up nicely in the microwave and tastes great on day two!
About the ANY sausage…you guys know I eat very little meat, but when I do, it (1000%) must be excellent quality and sustainable when possible. Otherwise, why bother? So I wanted to point you in two directions, depending on your dietary preferences.
First, the meat…
So, Aidells, a local-company-gone-national, has mastered their hand-crafted, small-batch, Chicken and Apple Sausages with sustainably farmed ingredients. They’re the real deal, guys (and probably at a store in your area). Btw, this post is not sponsored, I just had to get this brand outta my head and into yours…b/c they rock! And look how pretty their product looks in our dinner!
Second, the meatless…
What meatless product is gonna deliver big flavors to this meal? My friend Tawny, co-host over at Mommy’s Cocktail Hour podcast swears by Field Roast Grain Meat Co. sausages (also nationally distributed). She’s tried many veggie sausages and these are her favs. I value her judgement, because she’s been vegetarian, and a mom, for enough years to be the pro she is. Check out her podcast, yo!
So, let me just mention the easy steps to get this delicious meal into your hungry belly (see recipe below for details):
- Chop ingredients
- Cook macaroni noodles
- Sauté veggies
- Add sausage…and more veggies
- Heat…and devour!
