Peach and Berry Crumble
The other day, someone left five or six beautiful peaches at our door. It was a neighbor, but they haven’t fessed up. I love you, whoever you are. Get over here and eat this with me!
When the peaches arrived, my first thought was crumble, because it’s so easy to throw together. I had fresh blackberries and strawberries on hand, which make peaches sing, in my opinion.
How to bake during the summer and not heat up the whole house:
I know it’s summer and it is hot. We have a large toaster oven, allowing us to bake during the summer months without heating up the kitchen too much. I’m using this method as a substitute until I get my outdoor dream kitchen. It’s on my wish list.
Back to the crumble…
This is an excellent dish to make with kids. It takes about 15 minutes to assemble and bakes in under an hour. Non-cooks can even surprise their spouses with some ninja dessert skills, even though chopping fresh fruit is the only real skill required. It’s a win-win!
